What do we like?

A visit to the abbey in the small village of Saint Thierry is a must.

Built by Saint Thierry in the year 500, the entire village grew up around it. It even became the residence of the Archbishop of Reims, who ordered it demolished in 1777 to build a château.

Since the late 1960s, the nuns have reinvested the site, bringing monastic customs back to life. Admire the community chapel and the former chapter house, with its fine sculpted capitals dating from 1160.

You'll also appreciate the terraced gardens, which offer a magnificent panorama of Reims.
