What do we like?

This monument pays homage to William Muir Russel (1896-1918), an American aviator whose destiny was shattered in the local skies. The façade features the bald eagle, the national emblem of the United States.

To mark the centenary of the Battle of the Vesle, a tribute will be paid to the American aviator William Muir Russel, who died in combat in Courville, and to his father Henry, a benefactor of the village, on Sunday September 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., in the presence of members of the Russel family.
