Museum of Fine Arts - CLOSED
What do we like?
Closed for renovation works until 2025.
Assembled in 1794, the museum collections grew throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. To highlight the bequests of Henry Vasnier (1907), the City set up the museum in the buildings of the former Abbey Saint-Denis in 1913. An ambitious renovation plan, along with the restructuring of the site, was initiated in 2014.
While awaiting their completion, the Fine Arts Museum currently offers a historical overview of masterpieces illustrating the great artistic movements of the 16th-21st centuries, with paintings, sculptures, furniture and objects of art. On the 1st floor, 17thcentury classical and baroque paintings are on display, along with 19th century landscapes from Corot to the impressionists, such as Monet and Renoir. On the ground floor are period rooms devoted to decorative arts.
