What do we like?

Fort de la Pompelle played an important role in the 1914-1918 war. It was built in 1883 as part of Reims' defences on the designs of General Séré de Rivières after the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871). Reconverted into a museum, Fort de la Pompelle contains an important military collections, of which the unique Friese collection of 560 items of headgear that belonged to the German imperial army. For the Centenary of the Great War, the site of the Fort de la Pompelle underwent significant restorations and renovations from 2013 to 2016, while the museography was redesigned.
