La petite Châtelaine
What do we like?
Situated at the edge of the small village of Saponay, La petite châtelaine is a haven of peace in a bucolic setting. Open to nature, this family stone property has all the charm of the old houses of the Tardenois region. Situated at the centre of a network of small departmental roads, it's easy to get around by bike. The owners can provide you with electric bicycles. Within a radius of 6km, the appeal is as much cultural and historical as it is scenic. The rugged valleys of this small region with their forests and streams, the former presbytery of Villeneuve, once the Claudels' family home and now a museum, the places of inspiration for the two children, artists in the making: Camille and Paul, the fortified farms and the majestic ruins of the castles, all augur well for outings in the area.
Inside the gîte, every detail has been carefully thought out for your comfort and pleasure: take a dip in the superb retro-style bath, admire the decoration that adorns every nook and cranny and the charming wall of curiosities, climb to the top floor via a chic, retro spiral staircase, treat yourself to a quiet retreat in the cute garden shed to relax with a breathtaking view of the Villeneuve hill and its bell tower.
Here you can take the time to read a good book, have a drink, dream...
